My Sister's Gone Missing

My sister’s gone missing.

She’s not in her cot.

She was there yesterday

but today she is not.

Today there is someone

I don’t recognise –

she has different hair,

and dissimilar eyes.

She seems slightly bigger.

Her clothes aren’t the same.

Perhaps this is all

a mysterious game.

It could be a strange kind

of practical joke,

a trick that is played

on susceptible folk.

However, I think

that I’m onto it, maybe –

my own mother said

she was changing the baby.
